 Born into a farming family, a highly accomplished sportsman turned businessman, Manjunath Hegde began his athletic journey as a badminton champion at the age of 12. He then transitioned to wrestling, where he achieved significant success, including victories at renowned events such as the Mysore Dussehra. Following his wrestling career, he excelled as a bodybuilder, securing over 30 gold medals at various levels, culminating in the prestigious title of Bharat Kumar in the year 1973 in Kolkata.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Manjunath Hegde has established himself as a successful entrepreneur in the real estate sector, specializing in investments across Karnataka. He is recognized as an expert land banker, leveraging his extensive experience to effectively navigate and resolve land litigation and disputes. 

Furthermore, Manjunath Hegde is dedicated to giving back to the community through the Manjunath Hegde Sports Foundation, which aims to support and nurture young athletes. Through his dedication and diverse skill set, Manjunath Hegde continues to make a substantial impact in both the sports and business domains.

Manjunath Hegde Sports Foundation

 The Manjunath Hegde Sports Foundation has been a leading promoter of bodybuilding in India since the 1980s. Renowned for its commitment to the sport, the foundation has sponsored and organised numerous competitions at various levels, including district, state, national, and international events. Among its notable competitions are the Indo-Pakistan Bodybuilding Meet(1992), National Athletic meet(1994) and the 2004 World Amateur Bodybuilding Competition, which featured 200 athletes from 40 countries and garnered widespread acclaim.

The foundation's primary aim is to prioritize athletes, ensuring they are at the center of all competitions while providing them with the best possible experience.
